This is basically a mini "project" I am still working on. It's a puppodoro timer since theres a puppy on the screen that studies with you in the background. I got inspired by a youtube video where the girl creates her own unique pomodoro timer. Also the fact that i use pomodoro technique while working on projects and other things i thought why not make one on my own.
Build a pomodoro timer using html css and js. (make it cute)
I was scrolling around on youtube to find something interesting to watch while i eat. I stubled upon a very interesting video about coding a pomodoro timer. Watched it entirely. Got right to work. There was no specific pplan to it because I just knew it's good to practice some JS to.
I started by sketching what the main area should look like and wherre the timer will be placed I wanted to add something cute like either a sort of picnic basket or a animal studying to keep you motivated. While looking for images online i preferred sticking to the latter since a picnic basket is something i would want to personally design on my own to give that personal touch. I chose an adorable studying puppy and thought to myself ; PUPPODORO!
After completing the pinterest mood board and a few sketches, i started coding. I was mainly stuck at JS but the whole point was to understand what i am doing in JS, even if that meant watching other tutorials over and over again. I made sure to try and figure out more on my own then to just chatgpt stuff. A few hours later the timer started to work.
to be honest this was just an out of the blue trial and error type of project. If i remain time i would love to add details and personal touch to it and even some sound/song to show when your time is up.
I usually don't have this urge to get up and code random stuff since i feel more for design and research but this mini self project did push me to learn some new things in JS. I have been told i should keep practicing more JS like this to actually fully comprehend it and its good advice, i will do more of such mini projects. I felt really happy when the timer started working. That satisfied feeling in the end is what made the sketching and coding so worth it.
